My Approach
01.
THE PAPERWORK
Once you’ve contacted Puppy Love Pet Photography, we have agreed to capture your memories, and put you on the schedule for a planning meeting, I will send you some forms to customize your experience and share information about what to expect.
The paperwork will consist of forms to fill out with information about your pet so we can customize the experience and detailed style guides for you and your pet as well as suggestions on how to achieve the best results during the photo session
No fees are due until you decide you want this experience for you and your pet and the photo session is booked.

THE PLAN
So everyone feels comfortable and accustomed to each other, we’ll have a quick meeting to discuss things and plan everything out.
This shouldn't take more than 3o minutes. This can be over the phone, a video call, or in-person, whatever works best for you.
A lot of people prefer in-person planning session if their pet is shy. This will give them a chance to get comfortable with me, and the location of your photoshoot.
If you are doing a treat-catch package, we can test their catching skills. No judgment if their skills are the same as my Charlie!!!! We can talk about other fun and creative ways to capture their personality.
After this meeting you will be sent an individualized Style and Posing Guide to help you feel comfortable with the poses, decide what to wear, and prepare your pet for their big day!
A portion of the fee used to reserve your spot is due at this time.
03.
THE SNAPS
The big day! Before all the fun, we will have continued to talk, connect, and get to know each other. In the meantime, I will have everything prepared and worked on the creative piece so we can jump right into it.
The session usually takes about an hour (I tell people to plan on two hours so we have all the time we need.)
During your special photo shoot, you will have already decided if you would prefer to have a professional handler available, or you can help pose the main attraction yourself.
Final payment for the photo session is due 24 hours before the day of the photo session.
04.
THE REVEAL
In one or two weeks, you will receive your edited pictures, to see the star of the show in all their natural glory. This can be an in-person or online appointment.
This appointment usually takes about 30 minutes or less.
We will review the gallery together to discover your favorite images. At that time you can choose which ones you will cherish forever. If you were interested in ordering wall art or memory books, you can see what the samples look like and place an order.
I will ensure your cherished memories are ordered based on the highest standards, inspect them for quality, and coordinate a pick up or drop off after they arrive.
What types of pets do you photograph?
We photograph all types of pets, from dogs and cats to birds, rabbits, reptiles, and more!
Where will the photo session take place?
Sessions can take place in-studio,
outdoors at a location I recommend or you choose, or your home. We can discuss which setting best suits your pet's personality and comfort. There are a couple of amazing outdoor locations that I recommend. If there is extensive travel to get to a location you choose, there may be a small travel fee.
How many pictures will I receive?
Each individual package includes a specific number of web-quality digital images. Additional images are available for review and purchase. Any printed images include a web-quality digital image. Feel free to ask about custom packages.
How long does a pet photography session last?
Most sessions last about an hour, but we can adjust based on your pet’s needs and temperament.
How do I prepare my pet for a photography session?
Make sure your pet is well-rested, fed, and has had a chance to exercise beforehand. Bring their favorite toys, treats, and any accessories you’d like included in the photos.
What if my pet doesn’t behave well during the session?
We’re experienced with pets of all temperaments! We’ll take breaks if needed and work patiently to capture your pet's best moments. Professional dog handlers are available at no extra cost during your session to help us get the best poses and images.
Can I be in the photos with my pet?
Absolutely! We encourage pet owners to join in some shots for a special bond captured in the photos.
We can create images that showcase the loving relationship in a discrete way for people who may be camera-shy.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we require a 50% deposit to secure your booking. The remainder needs to be paid 24 hours before your session.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the session will receive a full refund of the deposit. For cancellations within 48 hours, the deposit is non-refundable.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
Your gallery will be available within 1-2 weeks of your session. We will schedule a time when you can select your favorite images.
Will my pet’s photos be shared on social media or used for marketing?
We love showcasing our work, but we will always ask for your permission before sharing your pet’s photos.
What if my pet has special needs or is nervous around new people?
We’re experienced in working with pets of all kinds, including those with special needs or anxiety. We can discuss any accommodations to make the session comfortable for your pet.
Can you photograph multiple pets in one session?
Yes, we can photograph multiple pets, either together or individually. Just let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly. More than two pets are an additional fee of $25 per pet.
What should I wear if I’m in the photos with my pet?
Wear something that complements your pet's colors without distracting from them. Neutral tones and solid colors tend to work best. After our planning meeting, you will receive an individualized style guide to help you with your choices.
Can you come to my home to take pictures?
Our goal is to customize your experience and love to capture lifestyle images. Even better if you have an amazing backyard or local park. There may be a small travel fee if you are located outside of the general Tyler city limits.
